Health and Safety RAMS for Small Businesses

What are RAMS?

RAMS stands for Risk Assessment and Method Statement.

If you are asked for your RAMS you are being asked for a package consisting of your risk assessment and method statement for the job.

We have designed a package specifically for small business. Let us know the task you want us to assess and we will produce a RAMS package consisting of:

A Health and Safety Policy Statement of Intent;

A Standard Method Statement;

A Standard Risk Assessment;

A Template that allows you to make the Risk Assessment and Method Statement specific to a particular job or site.

Guidance on how to operate your Accident Book and a statement of the legal reporting requirements you will have to follow if an accident occurs;

A Risk Assessment Guide so that you can complete other risk assessments when you need to and template for a Point of Work Risk Assessment to complete on arrival at the client premises.

In the package:

Standard Method Statement

Standard Risk Assessment

Job-Specific Schedule

Health and Safety Policy

The Cost

Our RAMS Package has been specifically designed for small businesses of less than 6 employees and is priced accordingly.  Each package consists of the Method Statement and Risk Assessment for one task.

If you have less than 6 employees, the cost of the RAMS Package is £150 (exclusive of VAT). If you want the security of on-going advice our retainer is only £45 per month. It can be terminated by three months' notice.

If you have more than 5 employees then the cost of the start up pack increases by up to £60 per employee depending on your business operations and how complex your operations are. If you have more than 5 employees you will also need a full health and safety policy, including details of your organisation and arrangements for health and safety as well as the policy statement of intent and we have factored this into our pricing.

When you get in touch with us, we will be able to be more specific.

If you have more than 15 employees, please contact us for a specific quote based on your individual circumstances.

Our Price Promise

RAMS are very common in the construction-related industries. For example, RAMS for kitchen or bathroom fitting; RAMS for plastering; RAMS for electricians. But they are also used in other areas, particularly if you are being employed as a sub-contractor and you are being asked to show that you meet health and safety standards.

When you contact us to start the process, we will ask you certain questions about your business.  We will assess the information you provide to us and then send you a formal written confirmation of the total cost we envisage.

You are not committed to anything until you have approved that quote.

That is our Price Promise so please do not hesitate to contact us with your details.

We have RAMS for

Carpenters
Electricians
Kitchen and Bathroom Fitters
Roofers
Plasterers
Painters and Decorators
Plumbers
GasSafe Engineers
Solar Panel Installers
Landscapers & Gardners
and
we can design one
specifically for you

For most small businesses the RAMS package will be all you need. For some, the initial review will highlight areas where individual hazards require a separate hazard-specific assessment.  We will tell you if this is the case before we start work.

If you choose the monthly retainer, it entitles you to advice and guidance on an ongoing basis. It covers our initial response to any query you may have. In many situations no additional charges will be incurred by you but if your query requires any detailed follow up we will provide you with an upfront quote and will not embark upon any work or incur any charges without your prior written approval.

Contact us now and get rid of at least this one headache!
